Wouldn’t it be nice if I could write these regularly and then just use the date as the title of the entry? Like a “real” blogger? Seriously, I don’t know how other people do this. I signed up for Twitter the other day and have written one tweet. One. I guess I’m just the quiet type. When it comes to Resolution, I’m never sure about how much info to divulge about our various projects because schedules change so much while we’re putting the books together. If I say that I think that a book is about done and then it takes us another 4 weeks to get the book together (for one reason or another) then I feel lame. So, for this post, I’m going to talk about other people’s projects and if those are late – it’s not my fault!
We’re really lucky to work with some really talented people (that luckily work for next to nothing) so I’m going to plug their various work.
First, Joe Sergi, who wrote “Economy of Scale” for the zero issue of From Here to There as well as Carnies (one of those upcoming things that we always talk about). Second, Marc Jameson, who drew “Economy of Scale”, as well as “The Layfield Incident” (due June 19th from *ahem* Resolution Comics) and a story I can’t remember the title of right now for the next issue of From Here to There. He has an awesome blog where you can get the low-down on all things Marc and see his awesome artwork. Check it out, tell your friends and in the coming years smugly tell everyone “I knew Marc’s stuff before he was Vertigo’s latest superstar artist”. Well, we’re back from the Emerald City Comicon in Seattle. I think Seattle is one of the best cities out there. I actually lived there for a couple of years, back in the day. Every time I think about where I might “settle down” Seattle comes to mind. It was great to see my old stomping ground again. If you ever get a chance to go to Seattle, you have to go to Dick’s Burgers on Broadway. Straight or gay, I don’t care…Everyone wants those Dick’s in their mouth. Okay, I’ll stop being nostalgic (and pornographic) now.
Next weekend Scott and I are headed back to the Pacific Northwest. This time it’s Portland, for the Stumptown Comicsfest. I can’t wait. I’ve passed through Portland many times, but I’ve never spent more than a day there. I have high hopes for what Portland has to offer me on an extended stay. Alas, they will not have Dick’s Burgers.

Apologies to residents of Seattle that might be sick of people equating their local comic con, The Emerald City Con, with the Wizard of Oz. What can I say? I couldn’t resist. It’s tough coming up with the titles for these entries. We are off to the Emerald City Con this weekend. I’ve never been to this con before but have always heard good things about it. I do like visiting Seattle, so I have a feeling this will be pretty fun. We’ll be debuting From Here to There #1 there. Yes, we’ve decided to start numbering the series with the second issue. There’s a couple of different reasons. First, I stupidly forgot to put a number on the first issue. Second, we didn’t solicit the first issue through Diamond, but hope to do so with this issue (despite their new sales minimums…ever optimistic, huh?) and I’ve heard a rumor that #1 issues tend tell sell better than #2, especially when very few people knew that there was a #1 issue . And third, if Marvel and DC can do weird re-numbering things with their books; we can to! If you can’t make it to the Emerald City Con, but live in the Pacific Northwest, you’ll have another chance to say “hi” to us at the Stumptown Comicsfest in the wonderful city of Portland, OR. That’s only a few short weeks away, the weekend of April 18th. In other news, The Layfield Incident is currently being colored by the talented Ray Long and should be out in June. The plan is to debut our charming little zombie story at Heroes Con which is Father’s Day weekend, June 19-21, 2009. That is supposed to be a really great con as well, and I can’t wait. Brian is going to have to handle the booth by himself for a little while so I can go and meet one of my all-time favorite artist, Guy Davis.

The latest issue of From Here to There is “in the bag”. Scott and I spent all week lettering all the stories, and now it’s done – off to the printers – out of our hands = Finished. In fact, we spent so many hours working on getting this thing done in time for our next convention that we both made ourselves sick by way of sleep deprivation. Now that’s dedication.
You would think that we would have a moment to catch our breath, right? But, no. That is not the case. Scott is hard at work editing our first mini series – Sorrow in Stillwater - while I am equally hard at work doing the final edits for our first two part comic – PIECES.
As soon as PIECES #1 is sent of to the printers, it will be time for me to start the lettering for The Layfield Incident, which Scott is editing.
As soon as Layfield is done…. It will be time to letter FH2T #2, which I am editing. Yes, I said #2. That is because we stupidly didn’t number the first issue. Or, Maybe we’re so brilliant that we just blew your mind.
We are also still slowly (very, very slowly) working on The Sound. There also might be a few more surprises that we’re cooking up.

I know, I know… We’ve gotta get more on the ball about posting more regularly on this blog. But this time we have a good excuse. The “Resolution Comics laptop” was stolen a couple of weeks ago. That computer had everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) that we’ve been working on on it.
We spent the first night crying, then…we got to work trying to regain all that we had lost. All of the artists have been great about resending their pages. We are still trying to figure out exactly what we are missing, but it’ll all come together.
“Never give up…Never surrender.” That’s our motto. Or, if you like…”Keep on keeping on”… “All good things come to those who wait?” I don’t know…Whoever comes up with a good motto for us in our troubled times wins a date with Scott. You must buy him candy and flowers.
By the way, has anyone checked out Marc Jameson’s latest blog entry at www.autoganzfeld.blogspot.com? I’m telling you, this guy is a hit man.

There’s only so many hours in the day to get things done, and unfortunately, our poor neglected blog is suffering from our lack of free time to get the word out to all of you. But you won’t be left wanting anymore….Here’s a brand spanking new blog for you to read.
#1 The next issue of From Here to There is getting close to completion. Most of the artwork is finished, and the lettering process is underway. I think this issue is gonna be AWESOME! There are some great stories in this issue, and all of the artists have done an amazing job of drawing the stories. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again….We have somehow managed to hit the jackpot for talented writers and artists.
#2 Marc Jameson is almost finished with the artwork for The Layfield Incident. I encourage any writers or publishers that are reading this to get in contact with him. He is absolutely amazing, and I’m really glad that I’ve had the chance to work with him. The coloring (which will be done by Christopher Barker – another awesome find for us) will be underway soon, as well as the lettering.
#3 Stefano Cardoselli has finished the artwork for the first issue of PIECES. We’re working with him and Rita Gorgoni (his partner/collaborator) on finalizing the script. Again, These are people that should be hunted down to work with.
#4 We are working on our first mini-series. It’s called Sorrow in Stillwater. It’s going to be a 6 issue story, written by Alex De-Gruchy (who wrote one of the stories for the latest FH2T) and will be drawn/inked/colored by Andy Lommi (who did the artwork for one of the stories in the latest FH2T). I’m really excited about this project. Alex’s story is really great, and Andy is one of the best artists I’ve ever seen.
#5 Once again, The Sound has been put on the back burner. But once we get all of the projects we have in the works out of the way, we’re going to concentrate on finishing it. The Sound is just so damn long that we wanted to focus on getting a few things out before we spent all our time on that. This project is very near and dear to Scott and I, and will be written, drawn, and lettered by us. It’s going to be in color and we haven’t decided yet if we will color it or have someone else do it. This time it’s for real…This is our next project to get finished.
#6 We’ve been putting together the next issue of FH2T. We have all the scripts lined up and are going to be looking for artists soon.

After weeks of telling myself that I need to write another post for this blog, I’m finally doing it. Hurray for me! Scott and I have had our hands pretty full lately, so we’ve been neglecting our poor blog.
We’ve been getting some pages for a few of our projects sent to us by the artists lately, and they are looking REALLY good. Among these pages is the “PIECES” artwork by Stefano Cardoselli, “THE LAYFIELD INCIDENT” by Marc Jameson, and the artwork for “FROM HERE TO THERE” #2 by multiple artists. I gotta say…we have somehow hit the jackpot of amazing artists. We also have the covers for “PIECES” and “FROM HERE TO THERE” #2 finished and ready to go. Irene Lanholm did the cover for “PIECES” (she is also currently working on the cover for “THE LAYFIELD INCIDENT”) and Gerry Fernandez did the cover for “FROM HERE TO THERE” #2. These covers look AWESOME!

Like I promised… the first installment of PIGEON TOE AND CLUBFOOT is now on our web comics link. Let it not be said that I am not a man of my word. I just sent the script for page 02 off to Scott to draw, so more is on the way soon.
FROM HERE TO THERE #2 is well in the works. All of the artists are doing their thing. I’ve seen some of Rita’s artwotk for one of the stories (Blood Trails) and it looks amazing!
We also have the finished cover for FH2T #2 ready to go. The cover art was done by Gerry Fernandez, and it is AWESOME!!!
We should be seeing some pages from Marc soon for THE LAYFIELD INCIDENT. I can’t wait to see what he’s doing with it. It sounds like he’s been putting a lot of thought into this and he seems to think it’s gonna come out looking pretty good. That’s good enough for me. If you’ve seen Marc’s artwork before, you would know that if he say’s it’s pretty good, it means it’s gonna look awesome.
I’ve also been talking to Irene about the cover for LAYFIELD. I think you guys are gonna want to buy it just for the cover, I know I would.
Stefano has sent us the first batch of pages for PIECES. Dude!!!… They kick ass. As I’ve said before, Irene also did the cover for PIECES, so between the cover and the interior pages, YOU WILL WANT TO OWN THIS COMIC!!!
On top of all of this, Scott and I are also going through submissions for FH2T #3, Submissions for mini-series, A few one shot ideas, and we are also still working on THE SOUND (not to mention our actual jobs). So believe me when I tell you that we are tired men
But you know what…? I wouldn’t trade this for the world.

So… Scott has been producing a recording project this weekend in San Francisco. Scott lives in the East Bay, and he doesn’t drive. B.A.R.T. (basically, the bay area subway for those of you not in the know) Stops running at about 12:30. I live in S.F.
So Scott stayed at my house over the weekend. Of course we stayed up way too late every night talking about comics, music, and every other geeky thing you can imagine.
I had to work all weekend. You know what that means? It means I barely slept. I’ve been going on about 3- 4 hours of sleep a night. Not so bad for a night (or two) but when you do that for 3 or more nights, that’s bad news. I’m actually so tired right now that I’m starting to hallucinate. No really, I am.
Damn you Scott and your evil ways of making me stay awake…..I WILL HAVE REVENGE!!!!

A few posts ago I said that I would keep you all updated on the progress of THE LAYFIELD INCIDENT, and so I shall.
Marc Jameson is hard at work doing the pencils and inks for this comic as we speak, unless he’s asleep right now, in which case he’ll be hard at work on these pages as soon as he wakes up.
We also have the multi talented Christopher Barker lined up (I hope) to do the color for this comic. That’s right…. it’s gonna be in full fledged, glorious color.
I’ve also been talking to a cover artist for this project. Her name is Irene (I’m a bad man for forgetting her last name). She does a lot of work with Azurek Studios. In case that doesn’t ring a bell, Stefano Cardoselli (Hitching a Ride) is from Azurek Studios. She does photo manipulation art, and believe me, SHE IS AWESOME!!! She also did the cover art for Stefano Cardoselli’s PIECES, soon to be released by Resolution Comics.
One more thing…. I finished writing the first installment of PIGEON TOE & CLUBFOOT, and Scott is drawing it as we speak, unless he’s also asleep. WAKE UP!!! It will be posted on our web comic link by the end of the week, I hope.
